About the Man Behind the Talent

| I started restoring Corvettes in mid 1970’s. I taught myself fiberglass repair and painting by reading books and honing my talents on my cars. As my skills increased, friends asked me to do theirs. The local Chevrolet Dealership became a second home. That is where I bought most of my parts. One day the shop foreman noticed one of my Corvettes and he offered me a job in the paint shop. After some time as an assistant painter, I became foreman of a second shift at Nash Chevrolet. After two years there I was offered a job as Body shop foreman at Bill Elliot Racing in Dawsonville GA. |

| I worked there until the Team was moved to North Carolina. Wanting to stay in Georgia, I applied for a position at Panoz Auto Development. Panoz Auto Development is the only small volume hand built road car manufacturer in the USA. I was the Body Assembly Supervisor on the Roadster Assembly Line. I worked there until I became overwhelmed with stock car drivers asking me to prepare and paint their race cars. The inquiries encouraged me to begin and run my own stock car racing body shop. It has been going strong since 1997. We build complete stock car bodies out of steel, including preparing, template fitting, custom paint schemes, and decaling. I applied many Custom paint schemes for Bill Elliott, Ricky Craven, Johnny Benson, Jeff Burton, Elliot Sadler, Todd Bodine, Tim Fedewa, Jeff Green, Jason Keller, Jerry Glanville, Mark Gibson, Joe Bessey, and Mark Thompson. The jobs included corporate racing paint schemes including- Buss Fuses, McDonalds, Pop Secret, Hollywood Video, Citgo, Phillips 66, Albertson‘s, New Holland, Valvoline, Budweiser, Cornwell Tools, Kodak, Nestles. |
